Amazon India is gearing up to enter the highly competitive quick commerce market, with a planned launch in early 2025. This new service will aim to deliver products within 20 to 30 minutes, significantly expanding Amazon’s current two-hour and next-day delivery offerings through Amazon Fresh. The move comes as competition heats up, with rivals like Flipkart having already launched their quick commerce service, “Flipkart Minutes,” and players like Blinkit and Zepto dominating the space.
Amazon has appointed a senior executive to lead the quick commerce initiative and is reportedly in discussions to acquire a stake in Swiggy’s Instamart to bolster its capabilities. This venture is seen as a critical step for Amazon to capture a share of India’s booming quick commerce market, which is expected to reach $6 billion by 2025
